No Exit

You were an angel, a biomechanical creature made by the God-Machine to implement its plan on earth. On your last mission something happened; you questioned the purpose of your orders, the laughter of a child made you hesitate and delay their execution, or perhaps you fell in love with an employee of the facility you were tasked to guard. You questioned God, exerted free will, and fell from grace. Fallen from your loyal, unthinking state as an agent of God, you wear a tattered shroud of humanity to hide from the angels. Hunted as an error in The Grand Plan. You struggle to reconcile the human life you wear with your nature as an inhuman being designed to fulfill a function, while you decide what to do with your precious, hard-won freedom. You search for a meaning to your existence here in the stink and the meat. You find others, broken machines like you, and wonder if you can trust them. You see the angels at work, still serving their purposes, and try to summon the courage to stop them...

Star Trek: Into the Badlands

The Badlands, a region of space some thousand light years across, have barely been explored by the Federation. The region is home to vast plasma storms that make navigation almost impossible, as few ships are capable of avoiding the jets of plasma that can destroy even the mightiest of hulls. Because of this the sector is home to few residents, containing the homeworlds of a few minor species and colonists who have left the Federation to make their homes on the frontier. Other than engaging in occasional anti-piracy operations Stafleet was content to leave this region of space alone. The discovery of the Bajoran wormhole changed that. Three years ago the first stable wormhole was discovered near Bajor, this rift in spacetime connects the alpha and gamma quadrants, bridging a distance of 70,000 lightyears in mere seconds. The discovery of the first stable wormhole promises to usher in a new era of scientific advancement and peaceful exploration, and the great powers of the Alpha and B...

Exalted: Arc of Justice

The Sultanate of Tharwa is an ancient land of vast wealth and pious people. The mountains are laced with bountiful veins of iron and precious metals. Her forests are lush and filled with game. The soil itself is blessed by the Gods, producing wines and dried fruit that attract merchants from as far away as Port Calin. The altars of the Gods are kept heavy with offerings, as the best of each harvest is tithed to them in praise by castes of priests who have tended the temples since the First Age of Man. In piety the land knew peace and plenty, but such good fortune could not last. That was until Sesus Rafala became satrap. A nation as wealthy as Tharwa could not avoid the attentions of the outside world. When the Empress disgorged her legions upon the Threshold the Princes of Tharwa bent their knee in supplication, offering tribute to the Scarlet Throne in exchange for peace and protection. A satrap, an "adviser" to the Princes, was dispatched to ensure that the yearly tribut...

Exalted: What Fire Has Wrought

"He who drinks oceans of blood shall never stop bleeding from the mouth" From fires of chaos order was forged, this is the eternal lesson of Creation. The Primordials forged order from chaos in the Wyld when the world was given shape and substance. The Gods & Exalted brought order when the Primordials grew decadent and oppressive. The Shogunate brought order to Creation in the Great Uprising, when the Anathema who grew drunk on the stolen powers of the Sun and Moon were cast down and imprisoned for all time. Greatest of them all however was the Scarlet Empress. She, who a midst the twin disasters of the Great Contagion and the Balorian Crusade, mastered the ancient weapons of Creation and expelled the armies of Chaos and Death.  From the bones and ashes of the old a new order, the Realm, was wrought. A great Empire that lies at the beating heart of Creation. Upon her ascension she commanded all to serve her ambitions. Cities were rebuilt, harbors dredged, great a...
